Board of Governors

The University of Prince Edward Island Board of Governors is established under the University Act to manage, administer and control the property, revenue, business and affairs of the University. The Board of Governors serves voluntarily and includes students, faculty, alumni, community representatives appointed by government, members-at-large appointed by the Board, the Presidents of UPEI and Holland College, and the Chancellor of UPEI. Guided by the Board of Governors, the University fosters learning, research and service through community collaborations and innovative partnerships that make an impact on Prince Edward Island, and beyond its shores.

UPEI is proud to have its highest-ever enrolment of 4,600 students in 2010–2011, more than 20,000 alumni, and its recent recognition as Canada’s leading university for growth in research (1999–2009).
